Old World (e.g., Johann Sebastian Bach, Julius Ceasar, Ben Franklin, Leonardo DaVinci, William Shakespeare, Cleopatra, Galileo Galilei, Europeans in general)
or
New World (e.g., The Beatles, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Martin Luther King, Jr., Apple Inc., Creators of movies in the 20th century, Hillary Clinton, Al Gore, Americans in general)
(Clearly this is a Eurocentric and sexist dilemma. It is not meant to offend. I'm just very ignorant.)

New World.
The old world was probably way too smelly.
old world...They had magic back then!
Wait, let me get this straight...you're asking me to choose between Europe and the United States?!?!?
Wow, and I thought the last one was easy.
New World. (And I do this despite the fact that the Decider will undoubtedly choose the Old World).
If the US is the new world and europe I is the old world, then I go for the old world. Besides, I find very pretencious and unfair the fact that this dilemma is actually comparing a whole continent with a single country.
And, for the record, there is soooo much more in the new world than just one country, even if this country is the Republican Paradise...
I guess you already noticed,... I am having a very bad day.
...none taken.-
LOL. Juan, I love your spirit. No offense. Allow me to explain this one...
"Americans in general" refers to all Americans--North, Central, and South included--and the culture established by them, as in "Americans who conquered the New World." And "e.g." was put there to show these are examples of what I mean by the New World--it's not meant to be an exhaustive list. (By the way, note that the Beatles and creators of movies in the 20th century can include non-Americans. I would argue that both are examples of a culture rooted in the New World.)
SO, the New World was meant to be used in the narrow and egocentric way we learned about it in our 9th grade text books--as in the way Christopher Columbus and the immigrants of yore used the term. Hence, my "joke" referring to being very ignorant. Please understand that this dilemma is intended to illustrate my penis-biased, Anglo-centric education in history.
Yeah, you know, as JB once said: "juan is just that philosophical sometimes..."
And thank you for making this monday a much better day than my last friday.
PS: your new scoring system really left me withut a chance, I´m hoping for better luck in the next season, assuming there will be a next season.
This is the hardest one yet for me. As always, I like Rolo's thinking...
Old World. New World is great, but we're doing a lot to ruin the Future World.
As I've mentioned before, what I love about these dilemmas is that you sort of have to create your own context for choosing one -- apply your own criteria.
But this time, I don't even know exactly what I'm applying context TO. If it was just OW vs. NW, that would be easier. But with all the "clarifications" that have been added, I have very little idea what I'm deciding between, let alone how to decide.
So I don't know...
