There are a lot of sketchy things about Lincoln that people like to overlook. I'm not sure what they are, but I heard from a credible source that they exist.
Wow. That's a tough one...Father of our country versus Preserver of our country.
If you really think about it, Lincoln was a one-hit wonder...he was some second-rate state legislator that ended up being a damn great president, but that's all.
Washington, on the other hand: General, Philosopher, Farmer, President, AND he set the two-term precedent when he could have been King of the US? Man, I just talked myself into Washington.
And on a related note...did you know that there is a virulent anti-Lincoln movement? They have conventions and publish papers like, "Lincoln's Spectacular Lie" and "Senator Palpatine, Meet President Lincoln." Check it out here: http://www.lewrockwell.com/orig2/lincoln-arch.html
I'm with Alex on this one- Father or Preserver? That is a dangerous dilemma.
I would have to say G.W. He could've been KING. I went to Mt. Vernon a few months back and visited the museum. I saw his teeth. It takes a really strong man to be able to wear dentures like those.
Lincoln is my answer. I don't really know about US political history, but if I asume that a president is killed by the bad guys... therefore he was one of the good guys, right? Washington may have been a even better president or person than Lincoln, but not a big enough pain in the but, for the bad guys, to take him out. And in MY opinion, bad guys NEVER fail.
Definitely NOT Kennedy. Come on Hugh and Laura!!! Are you serious!?! As my hero, Karl Rove, once said: "You're entitled to your opinion, but I'm entitled to the facts."
Alex, I couldn't quite tell what your answer was. Was it Washington?

So, Abraham Lincoln.
