Delete?

or

Strikethrough (a.k.a. strikeout)?

Delete. I hate the way strikethroughs look. Both the typed strikethrough, or the handwritten version (Scratchout)look sloppy and show evidence of error. If you want evidence of the change, just use track changes, although it's all very messy and confusing.

I vote for the clean and neat: DELETE!

I admit to no failures or shortcomings.

Never let 'em see you sweat.

Strikethrough is the correct answer.

The reason is exactly because it shows evidence of error and looks jarring, as Carla and Alex suggest.

When would one use strikethrough? When editing an existing draft of a work. Strikethrough is one of the best available tools to really shove your edits in the face of the hapless copy monkey who garbled the document in the first place. Strike right through that grammar-devoid gibberish! Let that harsh bisecting line show all the world what garbage you so deftly excised from the page!

Strikethrough.

I was going to say delete, because it's just so clean, but I like Tarble Joe's thinking. I do so much editing, obviously, and get so angry at stupidities on the page, that the strikethrough effect as TJ describes it is exactly what I need.

Strikethrough.

Answer: Delete. Like Carla, I prefer things to look clean and neat. I also haven't once used a strikethrough - making it useless and stupid.

The answer: Delete. Real progress requires real commitment.

Blast!! I had my answer (strikethrough) all drafted, and I know it would have changed the Decider's mind.

Carl,

You get 0.00001 credits for using Star Wars profanity. Unfortunately, I only report credits in whole numbers.

You should still post your draft comment, just for the record.
